The San Francisco 49ers are in a bit of an odd spot with the No. 11 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. A trade down would make a lot of sense given their need for more draft capital and the players projected to be on the board when they're on the clock. ESPN's NFL draft analyst Field Yates thinks the team may be more aggressive and looking to trade up.
We highlighted a couple of players it would make sense for San Francisco to trade up for. They were both defensive linemen. Yates believes a pair of offensive linemen may facilitate a move up from the typically-aggressive 49ers.
Via ESPN:
Having 11 picks in a normal year would mean the 49ers could play around with moving up. This year's class will require volume, though, and moving up would cost them at least one of those 11 draft picks. If they are trading up to select Campbell or Membou, it would require the player to step into a starting right tackle job as an upgrade over Colton McKivitz on Day 1. It would also require they flip to the left side after Trent Williams retires.
If Campbell or Membou can do that, perhaps it makes sense to shell out some additional capital to snag them. If they can't do that, it would be a wasted move up the board for the 49ers.

If Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders goes third overall to the Giants, the chain reaction would likely include the Patriots taking Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter or Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter. That means the top two offensive tackles -- LSU's Will Campbell and Missouri's Armand Membou -- could reach the eighth pick of the draft.
Should that be the case, would San Francisco -- with its major offensive line need -- consider leapfrogging the Bears at No. 10 to draft one of them? The 49ers have a lot of holes to fill throughout the draft, but they also have 11 picks to work with -- tied for the most.
