13:22 PT: ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli and Chris Mortensen report the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms in principle with RB Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) on a contract. There are still some marketing issues that need to be addressed, but both sides acknowledged those elements of the deal are close to completion.

Emmitt, Cards agree to contract

Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher, has agreed to contract
terms with the Cardinals, sources confirmed.

The Cardinals have planned a news conference for Wednesday afternoon
at The Biltmore, where league meetings were being held.

The length of the contract and financial terms were not immediately
available.

The Cardinals had pursued Smith since he was cut by the Dallas
Cowboys in late February. He visited Arizona in March, expressed his
interest in playing for the Cardinals but also said he wanted to explore
other options.

Smith, however, apparently didn't have many other alternatives, and the
pace of negotiations accelerated over the past few days.

Smith played 13 seasons for the Cowboys and broke Walter Payton's
rushing record last season.

"In my mind, I'll always see a star on Emmitt's helmet," said Cowboys
owner Jerry Jones.

nah, I'm jumping the gun, after we score some major points & win more games, people will be coming big time. It would be an enormous improvement to see the stands full other than those ugly bleachers on T.V. . When the new facility comes, even more power to us!!
