Community members are invited to a powerlifting event to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.
Anytime Fitness in East Bridgewater is hosting Power for Prevention from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28, according to a community announcement.
The event will support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a leading organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
The competition will take place at 225 Bedford St. in East Bridgewater and will feature local lifters of all experience levels participating in classic strength events. The day will also include community vendors, fundraising opportunities and ways for attendees to learn more about mental health resources.
“Fitness has the power to bring people together and support something bigger than ourselves,” said Megan Brenowitz, vice president of operations for the local Anytime Fitness locations. “This event is about community, strength, and raising awareness for an important cause.”
Community members are encouraged to attend, cheer on participants and support the fundraising efforts. Businesses and sponsors are also participating to help make an impact locally.
Donations and sponsorship contributions will directly benefit suicide prevention programs and resources through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
