Eagles offensive lineman Cameron Williams left Thursday’s training camp practice after going down during a team drill at the Jefferson Health Training Complex.
Williams remained on the field while members of Philadelphia’s training staff evaluated him following the play. The second-year lineman eventually stood and walked off under his own power, although he appeared to be hobbling as he made his way to the medical tent.
The Eagles did not immediately announce the nature or severity of the injury. Williams’ ability to leave the field without assistance was encouraging, but additional testing and evaluation will determine whether he must miss practice time.
Williams entered training camp competing for a reserve role along an offensive line that values position flexibility. Philadelphia selected him in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft after his college career at Texas, where he primarily played offensive tackle. At 6-foot-5 and 317 pounds, Williams has the size and length required to remain on the outside. The Eagles also experimented with him at guard during spring practices, potentially expanding his path to the active roster and increasing his game-day value.
Williams is competing within a crowded group of developmental linemen. Philadelphia has Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson established at tackle, with Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen filling the other starting positions. Young players such as Myles Hinton, Hollin Pierce and rookie Markel Bell are among the linemen seeking reserve roles.
Any prolonged absence would cost Williams valuable repetitions as offensive line coach Chris Kuper evaluates combinations and identifies the most versatile backups.
