Drew Faurot tied multiple program records for Florida State baseball with his third consecutive four-hit game in the No. 3 Seminoles'8-2 win over Cal on May 9.

Faurot went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run and a two-RBI double to record a team high four RBI for the Seminoles. He is 12-for-13 in his last three games, including two walks, and has improved his batting average from .293 before the Clemson series to where it currently sits, .321.

His 12 consecutive at-bats with a hit tied Steven Wells, who recorded 12 straight hits in 2018, and he tied Taylor Walls's 2017 record of reaching base safely in 14 consecutive plate appearances. Faurot has hit five home runs, three doubles, scored nine runs, and recorded 12 RBI in his last three games for the Seminoles.

He fell one at-bat short of breaking both records with a ground out in the top of the ninth inning.

With the win, FSU remains in first place of the ACC standings with five conference games remaining.

Faurot's second-inning two-run blast, his 14th of the season, started a run of eight unanswered runs for the Seminoles, who came back from an early 2-0 deficit to the Golden Bears.

Jamie Arnold started on the mound and struck out nine and walked a pair in six innings pitched, and he allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits. Both runs came after lead-off doubles down the right field line, in the second and third innings, respectively.

In the second, after Myles Bailey fielded a ball at first base, his flip to an on-rushing Arnold was behind the lefty, and the ball rolled toward the Cal dugout, allowing Max Handron to score from second on the error. In the third, a lead-off double from Jarren Advincula was rewarded by an RBI single from Jacob French.

Arnold struck out a batter in all but one inning he pitched, including three strikeouts in the third inning. He was replaced by Joe Charles in the seventh inning, who struck out five in two innings of relief.

Faurot's two-run blast tied the game in the fourth inning and the Seminoles took the lead in the fifth on Jaxson West's first home run of the season, a blast well over the right field wall. Faurot would record another two RBI with a double in the sixth inning to give FSU a 5-2 lead.

A three-run seventh inning put the game out of Cal's reach.

Max Williams's hard hit grounder bounced off and under the glove of the Golden Bears' third baseman to score Gage Harrelson before Bailey hit an RBI single to score Alex Lodise from second base and advance Williams to third. A Cal Fisher single scored Williams, the final run of the inning, and gave the Seminoles an 8-2 lead.

Chris Knier replaced Charles and recorded a save for the Seminoles with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
