During the TNT broadcast of the Warriors-Rockets Game 4, which Golden State won in a nip-and-tuck fashion, 109-106, some were less than happy with the way that anaylst and former NBA All-Star Reggie Miller showered Draymond Green with praise and defended him when he got into a scuffle with Houston players.

But Miller's praise was not entirely without good reason. The Warriors won thanks in large part to a late-game stop by Green, who forced a game-sealing miss from Houston's Alperen Sengun with 6.1 seconds to play and the Dubs ahead by one point.

One contemporary of Miller's, 1988-89 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Eddie Johnson, even called out Miller over the calls. Johnson and Miller were teammates with the Pacers for two seasons, from 1995-97.

Johnson, who cohosts the "NBA Today" show on Sirius XM and does color for Phoenix Suns broadcasts, wrote on Twitter/X early Tuesday: "Reggie forgot he does a national telecast and he should be partial. Up cheering on Draymond and Warriors with pom poms."

Green saw the post on Tuesday morning and shot back at Johnson. "Nah there’s just some OGs that don’t sit around and hate…" Green wrote.

Even if you thought Miller laid it on a bit thick, this was a very typical Draymond Green kind of game, a defensive battle in which the Rockets did a much better job containing Stephen Curry, who had 36 points in Game 3 but was just 6-for-13 for 17 points in Game 4. Jimmy Butler returned from a pelvic injury to score 27, and Brandin Podziemski had a huge 26-point effort.

Green had only six points, but his defense was critical, and he was a plus-17 on the box score. He had to play through five fouls, having picked up his fifth foul with just over eight minutes to play in the third quarter. Green played 7:18 in the fourth period with five fouls.

His mindset, he said, was, "Just not pick up a cheap one. I'm never going to be one of the guys that just because you got fouls you don't defend. I feel very confident in my defensive ability to defend. I'm going to contest at the rim.

"In that situation, you just got to make sure your fundamentals are clean. So that's what I try to do. ... I can't be a guy for this team just because I got fouls I lay off. I'm our defensive anchor. You got to be there. If I foul out, I just foul out. I'm better served -- I can better serve this team just playing. If I foul out, I'm gone, than staying out there and just giving the best."
