Rookie receiver Chris Bell was never going to be ready for the start of the 2026 NFL season.
And the Miami Dolphins made it official on Tuesday by placing the former Louisville standout on the active/non-football injury list. Bell was selected in the third round (94th overall). While he posted solid numbers for the Cardinals - 151 receptions for 2,166 yards (14.3 avg.) and 12 touchdowns in three seasons - he also missed the last two months of the 2025 season after suffering a major knee injury.
Since then, the speedy receiver has been working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered last November, being limited in off-season OTAs and minicamps and not seen participating in team drills.

Bell, who is expected to help replace the departed Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in Miami's receiving corps, will be part of the team's 90-man training camp roster. The Dolphins will have to make a decision on what to do with him once they cut down to the regular-season 53-man roster on August 30.
