MIAMI GARDENS ― The Miami Dolphins have 11 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, including six in rounds 1, 2 and 3.

The Dolphins have big needs at cornerback, wide receiver, guard, edge rusher and safety.

General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan must nail at least three immediate starters in the draft.

Expectations are extremely low, with 4-13, 5-12 and 6-11 the most common projections.

Sullivan knows you want him to "build the trenches," but he also has the flexibility to draft almost any position at any slot in the draft. Miami has a mid-to-long range plan. There will be no Super Bowl appearance in 2026-27.

I'm happy to take your questions for this NFL Draft mailbag:

Could you see the Dolphins trading up? If so, who would be the target? - @jtinboi.

Hi Justin. I think it's very unlikely the Dolphins trade up. Trade down? Sure. But that is not easy to do in most drafts and this is not a top-heavy draft.

Who is the most likely Dolphins player to get traded before or during the draft? (Jordyn) Brooks? (Zach) Sieler? Surely not (De'Von) Achane? - @christianbenven

I think it's unlikely the Dolphins trade any of those players before this season. Miami has stripped it down to the studs, but there are, well, a few studs left. Might as well roll with them.

Has Troy Aikman pointed out to the front office that one of the biggest reasons he won 3 Super Bowl rings was because Dallas had a ginormous offensive line and one of the best fullbacks in the game? - @ejfootball

The Dolphins are in good shape at left tackle and center, assuming they re-sign Aaron Brewer. Look for at least one tackle and at least one guard. The good news? The Packers have an outstanding track record of offensive line draft evaluation. And, of course, Sullivan comes over from Green Bay.

(Rueben) Bain at 11????? - @soflgreg

Everyone loves how Rueben Bain plays. Nobody loves his short-ish arms. My gut tells me Miami has so many needs that they would pass on a player with controversial measurables at No. 11. After all, it would be the very first pick of the Sullivan era. But ― we'll see. It would certainly be a popular pick among fans.

Joe: Really believe Miami will go and draft big players from all positions: receiver, TE, DB's pass rusher. What do u think about the DT out of Ole Miss. Do u think he's a fit?- @fitzgerald82525

I agree that Miami wants to become a bigger and more powerful team. This does not mean there will not be a focus on speed at positions like wide receiver and defensive back. But they absolutely want to be more physical and it's long been said big people "beat up" small people. I didn't know a lot about Ole Miss' Zxavian Harris, so I looked it up. Looks like he has rare size and could be an option in Round 3.

Do you expect the Dolphins to draft players on all of its 11 selections later this month? - @MrEd315

Yes. Plenty of room for all 11 and many more, drafted or undrafted. (Of course, Miami would be open to dealing a 2026 third-rounder for a 2027 second-rounder, for example. Any good GM would.)

At what point in Mike McDaniel and Brian Flores tenure did you know they would not succeed with the Miami Dolphins? - @conviglionis

I didn't know Brian Flores would be fired. Miami finished very strong. He is a good coach. He was fired for behind-the-scenes personal conflicts. I did think his nature would grind on people over time. Unfortunately there were alarming red flags about the future of the McDaniel era as early as before last season.

If Malik Willis works out, the Dolphins may be only a few draft picks away from having a very good offense. I know Jeff Hafley is a defensive guy. But what is the chance they fix the offense first, as it seems like less of a project. - @bealegerrad

I think the Dolphins have to seriously consider a cornerback at No. 11, but none of us should get mad if Sullivan has conviction on a player at any position. I think the Dolphins have to seriously consider guard, receiver and edge in the first two rounds. But Sullivan has so much flexibility here. He truly can pick players regardless of position. More than ever, I agree with those who plea for "best available player." I think Sullivan is controlling this draft, so Hafley's defensive background should not weigh heavily.
