It was batter up, and then some, for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, Calif. Every Dodgers player in the starting lineup got at least one hit and Eric Lauer was impressive in his start, too.

All of that and more hitting led the Dodgers to a 9-4 victory over the Athletics.

Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy, and Andy Pages all hit home runs, keeping Los Angeles comfortably in front all game long.

Lauer worked six innings, giving up nine hits, three earned runs, one walk, struck out two, and allowed one home run. Reliever Kyle Hurt came on in the seventh inning and struck out every Athletics hitter he faced. Jonathan Hernandez came on in the eighth and could not get through the bottom of the ninth inning.

Jack Dreyer Gets into Game Late

Jack Dreyer was called upon by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to wrap this game and victory up. Dreyer did allow a run to score, but the Athletics didn't have any fight left against Dreyer.

Athletics starter Cage Jump worked 4.2 innings and allowed 11 hits, five earned runs, didn't walk anyone, struck out five, and allowed two home runs. Three Athletics relievers followed and gave up a combined four runs.

The Dodgers put two runs up in the second inning, but the Athletics answered with a three-spot in their half of the second for a 3-2 lead. Los Angeles added their own three-spots in the fourth and sixth innings, and one more run in the top of the eighth.

Ohtani, Pages, and Freeman all were 2-for-5 at the top of the Dodgers' lineup on Monday night. Teoscar Hernandez and Muncy also made a spot among the 2-for-5 crowd themselves.

Kyle Tucker and Dalton Rushing finished up 2-for-4 as the Dodgers kept the offense humming.

Could Lauer Deliver This Way in Second Half?

Lauer picked up the victory for Los Angeles, while Jump absorbed the loss for the Athletics. If Lauer can put together outings like this after the All-Star break, then it'll be a big lift for a Dodgers pitching staff that definitely could use one in the second half.

Both teams will get at it again on Tuesday night at Sutter Health Park.

Yes, Los Angeles remains in first place in the National League West Division. As for the Athletics, they are in a four-team contingent battling it out for the American League West Division lead at this time.

Both teams have a lot to play for in this series. There's no doubt, though, that the Dodgers have visions of a third straight World Series championship dancing in their heads.

Any additional wins that Los Angeles can get when the second half of the 2026 MLB season starts might be the difference between just making the playoffs or raising the Commissioner's Trophy one more time.
