The Los Angeles Dodgers are still making roster moves in the days leading up to players reporting for Spring Training.

Pitchers and catchers are set to begin training on Feb. 10, and Los Angeles is moving on from one pitcher to make room for a catcher.

Dodgers DFA two-time World Series champion Anthony Banda

The team announced on Friday that catcher Ben Rortvedt has been claimed off waivers, and left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda has been designated for assignment.

Banda, 32, was a part of the Dodgers' back-to-back World Series wins in 2024 and 2025, appearing in both championship-winning series against the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees.

In the 119 appearances he made over the past two seasons, Banda posted a 3.14 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 114.2 innings.

Rortvedt, 28, was a part of the Dodgers World Series win in 2025, but was then claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds in November. The Reds DFA'd the catcher earlier this week, which led to Los Angeles picking him back up.

He appeared in 44 games for the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025, finishing with a .152 batting average, .240 on-base percentage, and .445 OPS while hitting one home run and 10 RBI.

Rortvedt came up big in the 2025 postseason for the Dodgers while Will Smith dealt with injuries, recording a .429 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, and 1.071 OPS in the four games he appeared in.
