At 70-48, the Los Angeles Dodgers still hold a 7.5 game lead in the NL West. They remain one of the favorites to win the World Series. And yet, the Dodgers are in the midst of a worrying slump.

Falling 4-2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, the Dodgers have now lost 15 of their last 24 games. Still, first baseman Freddie Freemanisn’t hitting the panic button just yet, via Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

“There’s no concern in here,” Freeman said. “We’re a good team.”

Their latest loss marked Los Angeles’ eighth in their last nine games. The only win came on Saturday, of the 2-1 variety over the Diamondbacks. Outside of Arizona, the Dodgers have been swept by a pair of playoff contenders in the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs.

To Los Angeles’ credit, they are dealing with plenty of injuries across their roster. Catchers Dalton Rushing and Will Smith are on the injured list, joined by starting pitchers such as Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell. The Dodgers have a litany of relivers on the shelf.

Once fully healthy, there is no denying Los Angeles’ talent. For starters, they are back-to-back World Series champions. Furthermore, they haven’t taken their foot off the gas. They added Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz in free agency before pulling off a blockbuster trade for Tarik Skubal at the deadline. On paper, the Dodgers have loaded up for another World Series title.

But their latest skid shows that Los Angeles isn’t invincible. Freeman may not be panicking, but he and his teammates need to find their footing sooner rather than later. Ultimately, with the playoffs on their mind, the Dodgers know their best baseball has yet to come.
