Dillon Brooks has found a home with the Phoenix Suns, and the enigmatic NBA star will be there for a while to come after his new contract extension.

The Phoenix Suns’ experiment with a superteam failed spectacularly. After the departures of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the team needed a new identity.

Not many would have expected it to come from Dillon Brooks, but that’s exactly what happened. Acquired in the KD trade, the controversial NBA star has been an excellent fit for the franchise.

Brooks was an integral part of the team’s exceeding expectations and making the playoffs last season.. And now the defensive star has been rewarded for his efforts.

The Phoenix Suns have given Dillon Brooks a three-year, $73 million deal

The Suns are prioritising continuity this offseason, having given deals to a lot of their role players. Collin Gillespie and Mark Williams have also been tied down to longer contracts.

Brooks is the leader of the pack on this front. His ability to set the tone on defense and his mentality are both valuable assets. No wonder the Suns have tied him down till the 2029-30 season.

“Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has agreed to a three-year, $73 million contract extension through 2029-30, Mike George of Klutch Sports tells ESPN,” Shams Charania reported on X.

“Brooks has become a key part of the Suns’ two-way, hard-nosed culture under Jordan Ott and lands a new guaranteed long-term deal.”

Brooks had his best individual season with the Suns last year. He averaged 20.2 points per game, while providing excellent POA defence on the other end. He has earned his contract extension.
