MIAMI, Fla. – A full day has passed since the report that three-time All-Star Bam Adebayo confronted former Miami Heat teammate Tyler Herro about leaked viral messages. It resulted in a physical altercation, leaving the new Milwaukee Bucks guard struck in the face.

According to The Athletic, the incident took place at a gym inside Resorts World Casino – in front of Herro’s AAU team (Team Herro). It’s likely the first time Herro and Adebayo saw each other since the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster trade.

Ironically enough, the incident took place ahead of the Heat’s Summer League matchup against the Bucks.

A couple of weeks ago, direct messages on Instagram were posted involving Herro’s alleged second account. It consisted of brutal comments towards Adebayo – taking us to where we are today.

According to Yahoo Sports, there’s growing belief that Herro became unhappy that the face of the Heat franchise wouldn’t stick up for him during the Antetokounmpo trade talks. Coming off a season in which the 26-year-old played only 33 games, it would be difficult for Adebayo to advocate for him not to be traded.

During the incident, Herro reportedly yelled at Adebayo while being escorted out by security personnel. Players and coaches who’ve competed against him told Yahoo Sports he’s “cocky” and “attempts to rile up opposing players.” Herro was involved in another incident during the 2024-25 season, at Houston, when he and Rockets star Amen Thompson got into a scuffle.

When asked to comment on the original report, Herro responded:

“My only comment is no comment”

However, Herro might not be the only one to have these strong feelings. According to Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, there has been a level of resentment from multiple former Heat players toward Adebayo for being the “chosen one,” signing a big contract extension, and never being a subject of trade rumors.

In a league full of egos and different personalities, it’s certain that not everyone is going to get along. Adebayo (2017) and Herro (2019) were drafted by the Heat only a couple of years apart. Both were lottery picks and played just a collegiate season at Kentucky University. They’ve played in 404 NBA games together – combining regular season and playoffs.

Despite undergoing so many different battles, the two All-Stars are clearly done with one another.

The 2026-27 regular season has yet to be officially announced, but the Heat-Bucks matchups will likely be circled, especially for Herro’s return to Kaseya Center.
