The signings of Cade Mays and Larry Borom can't become official until the new NFL league year opens at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, but their additions are the first step in what looks to be a major revamping of the Detroit Lions offensive line.

The Lionscut veteran interior lineman Graham Glasgow in a cost-cutting move last week, and appear ready to move on from left tackle Taylor Decker after he asked for his release following failed talks on a revamped contract.

The Lions will have at least two new starters in 2026, potentially three if they open up competition at left guard, could move All-Pro right tackle Penei Sewell to the left side to replace Decker, and still could add to the position in April's NFL draft.

Borom started 11 games at right tackle for the Miami Dolphins last season and started games at both tackle spots for Chicago Bears in 2021-24. Mays finished last season as the starting center for the Carolina Panthers.
