Everyone wants to get reps with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Free agent wideout DeAndre Hopkins accidentally fired up Bengals fans with the idea over the weekend.
Now it’s Davante Adams’ turn.
Adams, appearing in a social media video for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday, said the following about Burrow: “I’m passing the phone to somebody who I wish I had the chance to play with…”
Of course, this was just Adams responding in kind after Burrow said something similar during the draft before the flag football event:
It’s more game recognizes game than anything else. The Bengals were never a realistic option for Adams while he was a member of the Green Bay Packers and they dialed in on Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Now with the Los Angeles Rams, there were rumblings that the Rams were interested in a trade for A.J. Brown, which could always signal the end of Adams’ time in LA.
Even if that were to happen, though, the Bengals wouldn’t be realistic players in any Adams market for many reasons, chief among those the fact he’s 34 and averages $22 million per year right now.
