When news broke of who the Boston Celtics had elected to sign for their first of two 10-day deals needed to avoid breaking NBA roster limit rules, fans of the team already knew what they were getting from the player in question. We are of course talking about Celtics alum and now new member of the team once again Dalano Banton.

Fresh off another 10-day deal with the Los Angeles Clippers after a two-season stint with the Portland Trail Blazers, Banton last played for Boston in the season they won their last title, 2023-24, for about half the campaign. Ahead of the Celtics' road tilt with the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, the Toronto native opened up about his return to the Celtics this season.

"I was in the G (League) for a while, so I guess after a point in time in the G, just speaking to my agent and stuff" got the proverbial ball rolling, said Banton.

"Definitely grateful for the opportunity," he added. "A lot of familiar faces here. Short time here, so you know that relationship like still lasts and kept in touch with a lot of the organization, a lot of staff, while I was away (...)."

"I feel like I had a good time here, and then kind of just building relationships with people go a long way. So I was able for them to bring me back, so it's a good opportunity."
