Espi is very specialized. He lives in the box (15.4 box occupations per 90 — 96th percentile). Very good at sneaking behind defenders undetected. Purposeful off ball movement. Great work rate when it comes to pressing. Don’t expect him to do much outside the box but Real Madrid…

I'll say this re: Espí.

Scored 11 Liga goals FOR LEVANTE even though he only got truly meaningful minutes around February. Had a case to make Spain's list for the World Cup.

You should not assume he's a downgrade to Gonzalo. Real Madrid believe he can actually be an upgrade.
