Several Cowboys representatives were in Lubbock on Thursday for Texas Tech's pro day, but the team already knows it wants to see more of one Red Raiders edge rusher.
Defensive end Romello Height is slated to be one of the Cowboys' official 30 visitors, with multiple teams around the league also scheduling one-on-one meetings with the 24-year-old, who was a standout at this year's Senior Bowl.
Height already has quite the well-traveled football résumé, with stops at Auburn, Southern California, and Georgia Tech coming before his breakout final season for Texas Tech.
Height logged 10 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 62 total pressures for the Red Raiders, but playing opposite fellow end David Bailey- himself a first-round draft prospect this year- may have Height slipping a little below some radars around the league.
He's also somewhat undersized for an edge rusher, at under 240 pounds. Nevertheless, Height remains an intriguing prospect for his explosive athleticism and speed.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer and vice president of player personnel Will McClay were on hand to see those skills put on display in Lubbock as Height went through a battery of drills.
The Cowboys are in the market for a quality pass rusher, with only Donovan Ezeiruaku, Sam Williams, and James Houston currently under contract. Dante Fowler and Jadeveon Clowney are unrestricted free agents; Payton Turner has signed with Detroit.
An expected switch by the Cowboys to more of a 3-4 defensive scheme under Christian Parker will also see linebacker Marist Liufau move to an edge rusher role. But a defense cannot have too many capable pass rushers, and Height's athletic potential may make him a name worth watching should Dallas find themselves in a trade-back scenario.
Height is scheduled to visit The Star in Frisco on Friday.

Romello Height is a DE prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 8.80 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 251 out of 2085 DE from 1987 to 2026.
