The NFL offseason has entered the OTA phase and will soon shift into mandatory minicamps. After that, training camp and the preseason will quickly bring the regular season into focus. As teams continue evaluating their rosters, some are still searching for veteran help in key areas. The Denver Broncos could have a familiar reunion brewing.
The Broncos selected Von Miller with the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, and he quickly became the face of Denver’s defense. His dominant performance in Super Bowl 50 helped lead the franchise to a championship and earned him Super Bowl MVP honors. Now, after four full seasons away from the organization, Miller could be on the verge of returning.

A recent report indicated that Miller, who remains a free agent, has expressed interest in rejoining the Broncos. The veteran reportedly understands any return would likely come in a specialized rotational role, which could make a reunion more realistic for both sides.

Denver already boasts one of the NFL’s most dangerous pass-rushing units. Nik Bonitto and Jonathan Cooper combined for 22 sacks during the 2025 season, while the Broncos led the league with 68 total sacks. The defense nearly carried Denver to a Super Bowl appearance despite several costly mistakes from head coach Sean Payton and the offense.
Still, teams can never have too much pass-rush depth. Even at this stage of his career, Miller could provide value in situational packages. He proved last season with the Washington Commanders that he still has something left in the tank.

The Broncos traded Miller to the Los Angeles Rams midway through the 2021 season, and the move paid immediate dividends for Los Angeles. Miller played a key role in the Rams’ Super Bowl run, capturing the second championship of his career before cashing in during free agency.

However, his massive contract with the Buffalo Bills never fully lived up to expectations. Miller recorded 14 sacks across three seasons and eventually settled into more of a rotational role.
After joining the Commanders, though, Miller became one of the defense’s few consistent bright spots. He totaled nine sacks and six tackles for loss while continuing to contribute primarily as a situational pass rusher.
Now, the biggest question is whether the Broncos and Miller can agree on terms. If they can, Denver fans may get the chance to witness one final ride from the franchise legend and former Super Bowl MVP.
