It's the final countdown for the Connecticut Sun, as the team will move to Houston and become the Comets ahead of the 2027 season. With a revamped roster, the Sun are hoping to end their run in Connecticut on a high note.

The Sun finished with the lowest winning percentage (.250) in franchise history last season, but that outcome was not unexpected with the team entering a major rebuilding era. Now, the challenge for Connecticut is moving forward without key contributors like Marina Mabrey and Tina Charles.

MORE:Why Brittney Griner's Next Chapter Is Worth Watching

This year, the team added depth, most notably acquiring WNBA champion and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Brittney Griner. With a mix of established veterans and exciting youngsters, can the Sun make a leap in 2026?

Let's take a look at the roster for the Connecticut Sun heading into the 2026 WNBA season.

Connecticut Sun roster 2026

Leila Lacan is the top returning scorer from last season (10.4 points per game), but Lacan and first-round pick Nell Angloma are temporarily suspended because of their overseas obligations. They are expected to join the Sun early in the 2026 season. Other key returning players include Aaliyah Edwards, Aneesah Morrow, Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Saniya Rivers.

Connecticut added a huge interior presence in Griner, who averaged 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game last season with the Dream. The Sun also recently picked up former first-round pick Hailey Van Lith off waivers, taking a flier on a young guard who couldn't find a consistent role with the Sky last season.
