Concrete support beams have broken in a stand at Werder Bremen's Weserstadion, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday.
There was initially no information on the cause of the damage. The club said it first wanted to get a clear picture.
Radio Bremen reported that there were already construction works at the stadium. Whether these are connected to the broken concrete supports is not known.
Bremen's first competitive home game of the new season is on September 5 against RB Leipzig.
