For the first time since 2020, the Washington Commanders will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. While the full NFL schedule will be released later on Thursday evening, several scheduled games have already been revealed.

The Eagles will host the Commanders in Week 1, with the game scheduled to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET. It's an all-NFC East Week 1, as the New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

The Eagles have won five straight season openers, with their last loss coming in that 2020 meeting at Washington. The then-Football Team defeated Philadelphia 27-17, scoring 20 unanswered points to come away with the win.

Washington and Philadelphia also met in the 2019 season opener. The Eagles won that one, 32-27. That game is best remembered as Terry McLaurin's NFL debut, when he torched Philadelphia for five receptions, 125 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Case Keenum missed a wide-open McLaurin on another potential touchdown, too.

The two longtime NFC East rivals split last season's games, with the Eagles winning 29-18 in Week 16 and the Commanders winning the regular-season finale in Philadelphia, 24-17.
