The Indianapolis Colts will face a handful of elite teams in 2026 despite having one of the easier strength of schedules in the NFL.
The Colts will hit the road on nine separate occasions in 2026. On the flip side, Indianapolis has just eight home games this year. However, even with an additional road game this season, which includes traveling to London for a Week 4 matchup with Washington, the Colts' travel schedule is relatively light compared to the rest of the NFL.
Indianapolis will travel a total of 15,868 miles through the air in 2026, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Colts will find themselves with the 22nd most air miles traveled this season, with the trip to London accounting for a large chunk of Indy’s airtime.
While not the be-all, end-all, less travel time means shorter road trips and more recovery time. When it comes to having a rest advantage -- or disadvantage -- those often-forgotten aspects of the NFL schedule can add up over the course of the 17-game season.
The Colts will look to bounce back on the road this season following a handful of underwhelming performances outside of Indianapolis in 2025. The team held an overall record of 2-6 away from home last season, and the Colts will undoubtedly need to play better on the road this year, given the favorable schedule.
