The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting Miami (OH) linebacker Jackson Kuwatch on an official pre-draft visit, according to draft analyst Ryan Fowler.
During the pre-draft process, each NFL team can have up to 30 draft prospects take an official visit. These visits can be with first-round prospects all the way to UDFAs.
Let's take a closer look at what Kuwatch could bring to the Colts.
Kuwatch is a one-year starter, playing just 780 career defensive snaps, 703 of which came this past season. He was a productive blitzer, generating 17 pressures and five sacks. Kuwatch was a sound tackler as well and was one of PFF's higher graded run defenders at the linebacker position, ranking 34th in run-stop rate.
In coverage, he allowed one pass breakup, at 9.9 yards per reception, surrendering nine receptions on 14 targets. Kuwatch has played 354 special teams snaps over his career as well.
It's a big one. Even with the addition of Davis-Gaither, this is a position group very short on experience. The next most experienced player on the roster at linebacker is Jaylon Carlies, who has played 242 career snaps -- most of which came in 2024. Depth is needed, and more competition for playing time is needed. You name it, the Colts need it at linebacker. This is a position where Ballard should be double-dipping in the NFL draft.
