Much was made of Colton Parayko using his no-trade clause to veto a deal from the St. Louis Blues to the Buffalo Sabres before Friday's deadline.

Turns out he may not have been the only one.

Parayko was the one that was leaked to NHL reporters who shared the saga with the world.

But if the same thing happened with another player and simply wasn't leaked by a reliable source, it may never quite be known about.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman alluded to this in his Saturday headlines segment.

He couldn't name names, but he felt Parayko wasn't the only one.

"It was a crazy week in St. Louis," Friedman said. "I don't think Parayko was the only trade that was vetoed out of there. I think there were some others."

There's no way to know for sure who this might be about.

But there were at least three other big-name trade targets that stayed put.

Robert Thomas had a lot of interest from around the league but is still in St. Louis.

Jordan Kyrou, another talented forward, stayed in place, too.

And the championship goalie Jordan Binnington was in rumors but is still with the Blues, as well.

Maybe it was one of them. It would make some sense, and it would align with Parayko's thinking.

It certainly adds a whole additional layer to the fascinating role no-trade clauses played this week in the NHL.
