Rob Leonard added some more experience to his defensive staff Wednesday. The Raiders have hired former Bills linebackers coach Al Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant.

Leonard and Holcomb have never worked together. But they've held the same job for the same team. Holcomb was a defensive assistant with the Giants and when he left to take the LB coach position in Carolina, his departure opened the door for Leonard to get his first NFL job.

Since then, Holcomb has twice been a defensive coordinator, but mostly has been a linebackers coach and run game coordinator.

The Raiders have yet to announce a linebackers coach.
