Get ready to take your tarps off, Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Reds are leaning into the viral "tarps off" trend, where fans take their shirts off and swing them around their heads, after it electrified Great American Ball Park during the team's dramatic, come-from-behind, extra-inning win over the Kansas City Royals on June 2.
Now, fans will have a dedicated section to rally in.
The viral trend has hit Cincinnati, and it appears it's here to stay, at least for the remainder of the season. The Reds are adding to their 3-2-1 Tuesdays, making it "Tarps-Off Tuesday."
In addition to $3 beers, $2 hot dogs and $1 ice cream cups, during Tuesday games, Rows L-Y in sections 401-406 (Kroger Bleachers) will become the official dedicated "Tarps Off" 3-2-1 Tuesday Section, the Reds announced June 22.
Any fan in the ballpark, regardless of seat location, can join the fun by taking their tarps (shirts) off to cheer on the Reds.
The first "Tarps Off Tuesday" game will be held June 23 when the Reds host the Milwaukee Brewers. The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. Visit mlb.com/reds/tickets/321-tuesdays for more information.
The tarp refers to an individual's attire from the belt up, which is then swung in circles above their heads.
It first gained traction in October 2025, when a harmless bet resulted in an Oklahoma State fan removing his shirt and twirling it amid a section of lifeless fans at a football game, according to crowd behavior anthropologists.
Soon, the act spread to Wisconsin, UCLA, North Carolina and Virginia Tech, young men channeling a sentiment originally expressed in Petey Pablo's first single "Raise Up" from his 2001 debut album. The lyrics go, "North Carolina, raise up. Take your shirt off, twist it 'round your hand. Spin it like a helicopter."
