Two-time NBA champion Chris Bosh is picking the New York Knicks to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in six games in this year’s Finals, citing the Spurs’ lack of experience.

Bosh also noted that the Knicks are on an 11-game winning streak after going down 1-2 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, then sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the subsequent rounds.

In stark contrast, the Spurs were challenged by the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and especially the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.

“I think New York has a huge advantage because they’re gonna play with that pain. They’re gonna play with Haliburton shot still in their brain from last year, suffering the disappointment in front of their fans last year. You never wanna feel that, but it happens. That’s something you can’t buy, and you can’t teach that. San Antonio doesn’t have that yet,” Bosh explained on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“To be honest, this kind of gives me the vibes of the 2011 Finals when we played the Dallas Mavericks. (Dallas had) huge veteran presence. They know how to muck up the game. They know all their tricks. They have that veteran presence to wrestle with you and get inside your head. I think New York is gonna do that. We’ll see what happens,” he ended.

San Antonio Spurs are the betting favorites over the New York Knicks to win the 2026 NBA Finals

The ESPN NBA Futures betting odds currently have the Spurs (-185) defeating the Knicks (+155) in this season’s NBA Finals. San Antonio arguably has the best overall player in the league in Victor Wembanyama, and the team’s confidence is sky-high after they eliminated the defending champions in the previous round.

However, the Spurs would be foolish to overlook the Knicks, who haven’t tasted defeat for quite some time due to their red-hot offense. During their unbeaten run, New York has never scored below 108 points, including scoring at least 130 points in four games.

These two teams have met on a big stage earlier this season, when the Knicks won 124-113 against the Spurs in the NBA Cup final last December. Furthermore, the Spurs and Knicks last faced off in the NBA Finals in 1999, where the former won in five games.
