Chicago White Sox’s Munetaka Murakami goes 1-for-4 with an RBI double during 2nd game for Triple-A Charlotte

Chicago White Sox slugger Munetaka Murakami had an RBI double during his second injury rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Murakami went 1-for-4 with one RBI, one walk and one run while playing the entire game during a 6-3 loss to Nashville in Charlotte.

The run-scoring double to center field came in the first inning. He ended the third inning by flying out to left field and popped out to shortstop in the sixth. The walk came in the eighth, and he scored from second on a single in the inning.

Murakami grounded out to second base in the ninth for the game’s final out.

Murakami is 2-for-7 with one RBI and one walk in two games with the Knights.

Before Wednesday’s game, Sox manager Will Venable said there were “really good reports” on Murakami following Tuesday’s game.

“He recovered well,” Venable said. “He did a good job on the field.”

Murakami has been on the injured list since May 30 with a right hamstring strain suffered the night before. Venable said before Wednesday’s game that Murakami’s status remains day to day.
