The Chargers are doing their due dilligence on the lesser-known edge rushers in this upcoming draft class and one of the name just linked to the team is Central Michigan’s Michael Heldman. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that Heldman is expected to visit with the Chargers and Packers in the coming days.
Former Central Michigan edge Michael Heldman is scheduled to visit the Packers and Chargers in the coming days, per source. He finished his college career with 19 sacks, including 10.5 last season.

Heldman is a 6’4, 268-pound pass rusher who tested extremely well this draft season. He RAS was a very elite 9.88, led by an impressive 4.71 in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 40-inch vertical and a 7.03 three-cone drill.
This past season, Heldman had a career-high 16.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. Both numbers were more than he had in each category in the previous four seasons combined. As a senior, Heldman recorded the second-highest true pass rush win rate (40.2 percent) among all edge rushers in this draft, behind only Western Michigan’s Nadame Tucker (40.8 percent). Texas Tech’s David Bailey, arguably the top pass rusher in the whole class, was third behind Heldman at 38.6 percent.
Michael heldman is a DE prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 9.88 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 26 out of 2105 DE from 1987 to 2026.https://t.co/1qrW1f0yGFpic.twitter.com/xMGqrOWXxb
