Chargers-Texans game has major playoff implications for Broncos today

Following their 20-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, the Denver Broncos could now clinch the AFC West as early as this evening.

The Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) will host the Houston Texans (10-5) at 2:30 p.m. MT (4:30 p.m. ET) at NFL Network. If the Texans upset (or tie) the Chargers, the Broncos (13-3) would clinch a division title. If Houston defeats L.A., that would ensure that the Chargers couldn't finish better than 12-5 and Denver would win the AFC West even if they drop to 13-4 with a loss to L.A. in Week 18.

And if additional results go the Broncos' way on Sunday, Denver could also clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference this weekend.

Even if all the results don't go Denver's way this weekend, the Broncos can still clinch the AFC West and the top seed if they simply defeat the Chargers in Week 18.
