Chaires-Capitola Little League steamrolled their first opponent in the 2026 Little League World Series Southeast regional. Today the boys from Tallahassee take on the defending regional champions from Irmo, South Carolina.

"The Green Machine" was clicking on all cylinders in a 16-1 run-rule rout over Columbus, Georgia, to open their run in the eight-team tournament. Chaires drew 10 walks and pounded out eight hits to ease into the winners' bracket in Warner Robins, Georgia. Camden Arnold led the way with four RBIs while Harry Pawelczyk scored three runs and pitched three strong innings with four strikeouts.

A win today would put them on the fast track to the regional final and a potential spot in Williamsport. But first Florida has to face the South Carolina team that got there last year. The two squads have one thing in common: big wins over Lake Mary, the team that won the 2024 LLWS. Irmo shocked the reigning world champions in the Southeast title game last year, while Chaires blanked the three-time state champs in this year's Florida state tournament.

Irmo won three games in the 2025 LLWS, but none of those players are back to defend their regional title. On the other hand, Chaires fields 10 players who were part of the 11U team that won the national Tournament of State Champions last year. Today's winner gets a day off, while the loser plays an elimination game Saturday, Aug. 8.

Florida vs. South Carolina was originally scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET but was moved back because weather delays ended play early Aug. 5. Here's what to know about today's game, including time, TV and streaming info and more:

When does the 2026 Little League World Series start?​

Once all regional tournaments are completed, 20 teams will gather in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the 2026 Little League World Series. Games begin Wednesday, Aug. 19, culminating with the 2026 LLWS championship Sunday, Aug. 30.

Where is Chaires-Capitola Little League from?​

Chaires Little League plays primarily at Daniel B. Chaires Community Park in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida. The city is located on the Florida Panhandle. Their home park is close to 15 miles east of Doak Campbell Stadium, home of the Florida State football team.
