Cayden Boozer was inserted into the starting lineup late during his freshman season following the injury to Caleb Foster in the regular-season finale against UNC, and he didn’t disappoint.
Now, he will spend the 2026-27 season likely in the same spot he finished this season, as he announced on Thursday that he is returning for his sophomore year.
The guard helped Duke to the ACC Tournament title, scoring 16 points apiece in the semifinals and finals of the conference tournament, while putting up a season-high 19 points as the Blue Devils survived No. 16 seed Siena in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The twin brother of Wooden Award winner Cameron Boozer, Cayden averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor. He averaged 22.8 points per game, and time on the floor is certainly set to increase in his second year playing for Jon Scheyer.
It’s good news for the Blue Devils as another guard, Darren Harris, entered the transfer portal before committing to Indiana.
