Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Cape Town City drubbed the University of Pretoria 4-0 to consolidate their promotion hopes.

The Citizens' goals all came in the closing 20 minutes, thanks to Jaedin Rhodes, Cee-jay Bezuidenhout, and Heaven Seeretsi, who scored a brace.

City are unbeaten in their last seven league outings, where they registered five wins on the bounce and two draws to sit fourth - two points behind log leaders Milford FC.

Meanwhile the table-toppers edged Leicesterford City 1-0 to increase their points tally to 30, while second-placed Casric Stars beat Venda FC to trail with a single point.

Kruger United round up the top four as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hungry Lions to be level on points with Casric.

In the middle of the pack, Lerumo Lions settled for a share of the spoils in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Gomora United, as the two teams sit sixth and 13th, respectively.

The Bees FC were held to a goalless stalemate by Midland Wanderers, who sit 14th with 14 points from 16 league outings.

At the other end of the table, bottom-placed Black Leopards salvaged a late point away to Upington City, while 15th-placed Baroka FC played to a goalless draw with Highbury.
