It appeared that Czechia was going to deliver one of the biggest upsets in men's hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics when New York Islanders forward Ondrej Palat put the Czech up 3-2 with more than 7 minutes to go in the third period.
That was until Montreal Canadiens' center Nick Suzuki scored the equalizer for Canada with under 4 minutes to go.
Then it was Vegas Golden Knights center Mitch Marner who completed the come-from-behind with a ridiculous overtime goal into the back of the net to send the Canadians one step closer to winning another Olympic gold medal with a 4-3 win Wednesday.

It was an impressive win by the Canadians, but a brutal loss for Czechia, which held multiple leads in the game.
It's also a win that comes for Canada without its backbone and leader, Sidney Crosby, who left the game in the second quarter with what was described as a lower-body injury by Hockey Canada on the broadcast. Canada will now await to learn its opponent in the semifinal, where the bracket will be re-seeded after the conclusion of all quarterfinal games.
Given the thrill of the game and end result for Canada, social media was quite active following the game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
