On Sunday, the Indiana Fever traveled to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Caitlin Clark's former home court, for a sold-out preseason exhibition against the Brazil National Team.
The capacity crowd of 14,998 made it the most attended women's basketball event in Iowa in years.
Moments before tip‑off, Lexie Hull stepped off the team bus wearing a black t‑shirt decorated with “Iowa #22,” a nod to Clark’s retired jersey at Iowa.
She later took to her Instagram story to post the image with the caption, "big fan @caitlinclark22".
Clark then reposted Hull’s image to her own Instagram story, overlaying it with multiple pink heart emojis, "".

Hull’s choice to wear Clark’s retired jersey number was a public salute to her transformative impact at Iowa.
She led the Hawkeyes to back‑to‑back national championship games (2023, 2024) and finished as the NCAA's all-time leading scorer between both men and women with 3,951 career collegiate points.

Clark’s return to Iowa was more than nostalgic theater, though.
She delivered 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists in a 108‑44 preseason rout of the Brazil National Team.
2024 WNBA All-Star Kelsey Mitchell led the way in scoring with 17 points, followed by Clark (16), Aliyah Boston (11), and Natasha Howard (10).
Indiana’s 70 first-half points set the tone from the get-go before closing the game out with their defense, allowing just 20 points in the entire second half.
Indiana now prepares for its final preseason tune‑up in Atlanta on May 10 before their regular‑season opener against the Chicago Sky on May 17.
