Caitlin Clark is already an all-time great in one aspect of WNBA history.
The Indiana Fever star recorded the fourth triple-double of her career in a 112-98 win over the Portland Fire on Friday, moving her into a tie with New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu for third-most all-time. Only Alyssa Thomas (20) and Jessica Shepard (5) have more.
Clark finished the game with 26 points on 5-of-9 shooting (14-of-17 on free throws), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals and 4 turnovers. This is her first triple-double this season, having posted two as a rookie in 2024 and one in her injury-shortened 2025.
She also became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,500 points and 500 assists in her career games-wise, with 78.
Clark was the vanguard of another offensive onslaught for the Fever, who built on their WNBA record with their 13th 100-point game this season, as well as their fifth straight. Six different players scored in double figures including Kelsey Mitchell, who tied Clark for the team lead with 26 points.
That was Mitchell’s 13th consecutive game of scoring 20 points or more, tying Diana Taurasi for the second-longest streak in WNBA history.
The win improves the Fever’s record to 19-10 this season, the best record in the Eastern Conference and the fourth-best in the WNBA overall.
