WNBA training camps have officially begun across the league, and on Monday, the Indiana Fever wrapped up their second practice ahead of their preseason opener on May 3.
Excitement is building for Caitlin Clark and the revamped Fever roster to take the court, especially under new head coach Stephanie White. Practices so far have appeared productive, with high energy and strong focus as the team prepares for the season.
However, one moment from Monday’s practice drew particular attention. During a late-game out-of-bounds scenario designed for Clark, she missed a shot as the buzzer sounded. Though she smiled afterward, her competitive fire showed as she shouted and slapped the padding on the sideline wall.
The moment echoed a similar incident from last season, when Clark received a technical foul for the same gesture. It quickly sparked a wave of reactions online—particularly because Clark recently stated that she’s aiming to keep her technical fouls under two this season, after being assessed six during her rookie year, just one shy of triggering a suspension.
Check it out:
"this girl rlly lied and said she’s only getting 2 techs this year," a fan said.
"2 techs this season, yea right," another fan posted.
"She’s definitely getting more than two technicals lol," someone else added.
One more fan commented, "'2 techs' doesn't seem possible."

Clark has always worn her emotions on her sleeve, and during her rookie season, it occasionally got the best of her—particularly in her interactions with referees, which were often tense.
Still, her personal goal of limiting herself to just two technical fouls this season will be an intriguing storyline to watch—especially as she adjusts to playing alongside a retooled Fever roster.
Indiana made significant offseason moves to bolster the team around Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston, adding veteran talent like DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham, Brianna Turner, and Sydney Colson.
