BEAVER DAM – Families looking for a night of excitement can head to the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam for the return of the professional rodeo. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 27, with gates opening at 5 p.m., according to a community announcement.
This year’s rodeo, produced by Rice Rodeo Company, features a new format called Bulls and Barrels, focusing on high-adrenaline events like bull riding, bronc riding and barrel racing.
The updated format means more bull riding and fewer timed events like team roping and steer wrestling. The arena layout is also being adjusted to bring the action closer to the audience, with plans to move the bucking chutes to the center of the ring, according to the announcement.
“Because there’s more money up for grabs in these events, we’re drawing in a higher caliber and more talented group of contestants traveling from all over the Midwest, Oklahoma, and beyond,” Dave Rice of Rice Rodeo Company said in the announcement.
The event will also feature professional entertainer and announcer Caleb Claybrook from Owasso, Oklahoma.
Tickets are available for purchase online, with discounts for advance sales:
Advance ticket discounts expire at 11:45 p.m. June 26. Tickets may sell out, according to the announcement. Find more details at https://www.dodgecountyfairgrounds.com/.
