One of the state’s top receivers is set to make his college decision.
Brownsburg wide receiver Branden Sharpe, a two-time 1,000-yard receiver and two-time Class 6A state champion, will make his decision at the high school on Monday at 6 p.m.
Sharpe announced last month that he had cut his list to Indiana, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Purdue and had official visits set for those four schools, starting with IU on May 29-31 and the other three schools in June.
Instead, Sharpe get his decision locked in.
Both of the past two seasons, Sharpe has been a key part of Brownsburg’s 6A title teams. In the 6A championship last season, he caught four passes for 151 yards and a touchdown and returned a kickoff 99 yards for another score in a 38-31 win over Westfield. Sharpe finished the season with 59 receptions for 1,143 yards and 13 TDs.
As a sophomore, Sharpe caught 66 passes for 1,665 yards and seven TDs.
Before cutting his list, he had plenty of other scholarship offers, including Boston College, Houston, Iowa State, Maryland, Northwestern, South Florida and Virginia Tech.
