The news out of the Cleveland Browns camp regarding the quarterback battle is not good.

Head coach Todd Monken called out the bad play yesterday. He called the play from his quarterback “embarrassing.”

“We threw interceptions in seven-on-seven, for God’s sake. I mean, who does that? There’s no pass rush,” Monken said after the Browns’ Wednesday practice session. “I mean, it’s embarrassing.”

Shedeur Sanders and Dillion Gabriel threw picks at practice on Wednesday, which was the bad news; the good news was that neither DeShaun Watson nor rookie Taylen Green threw a pick.

Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot said when mini-camp began that Watson was ahead of Sanders in the quarterback battle, to which his brother, Shilo, called foul on.

But maybe Cabot was onto something and saw something in Watson that she hadn’t seen in not only Sanders but also Gabriel.

Sanders still has a chance to make up for lost time, and in fact, Monken even talked about how much improved Sanders was, but if Monken is already talking about how embarrassed the quarterback play is, that’s not a good sign for the Browns.
