Broncos Wire's 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at seventh-year offensive lineman Matt Peart, No. 79.

Before the Broncos: Peart (6-7, 318 pounds) was a third-round selection (99th overall) in the 2020 NFL draft by the New York Giants. In four years with the Giants, Peart played 43 games (seven starts), with appearances at both left and right tackle. Peart finished his rookie contract in East Rutherford in 2023 before becoming an unrestricted free agent.

Broncos tenure: Peart signed a one-year, prove-it deal in 2024 with Denver. Peart made the most of his opportunity as a backup, dressing for all 17 games, even starting two of them, parlaying his playing time into a two-year, $7 million extension. In 2025, Peart dressed for six games, with one start. In his one start, Peart struggled to play through a serious knee injury. The team later learned that Peart had torn his MCL on the third play of the game and went on to play every snap. Peart spent the rest of the season on injured reserve.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Toss-up. After selecting Kage Casey in the fourth round of April's NFL draft, Denver got even deeper up front. Peart won't be a lock to make the team, but he'll get an opportunity to compete for a spot after he agreed to take a pay cut this spring.
