After trading back into the third round of the 2025 NFL draft last month, the Denver Broncos beefed up their defensive line depth by selecting LSU defensive end Sai'Vion Jones.
The Broncos often ask 4-3 defensive ends to transition to outside linebacker in Vance Joseph's 3-4 defense, but Jones (6-5, 289 pounds) probably has the size required to play as a 3-4 DE. He will join a defensive line rotation that already includes Zach Allen (6-5, 285 pounds) and John Franklin-Myers (6-4, 288 pounds). The team's top two OLBs -- Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper -- weigh 240 and 257 pounds, respectively.
So, after adding Jones, how does Denver's defensive line depth chart look? Here's our way-too-early projection.
The top six spots seem to be essentially locked in with JFM, Jones and Allen serving as the three starters. Roach and Jones will likely be the two top rotational backups, and Uwazurike will have his first full offseason with the team since his suspension.
Jones won't be handed a starting job right away, but depth is key up front, and he will get plenty of rotational snaps. And with Allen, JFM and Roach all scheduled to become free agents next spring, Jones might be in line for a starting role as early as 2026.
