Broncos' Bo Nix slept on by NFL in ESPN QB ranking with C.J. Stroud, Daniel Jones company originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Denver Broncos made it to the doorstep of the Super Bowl this past season, and if it weren't for Bo Nix getting hurt at the end of the AFC Divisional Round, they might've made it to face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
But Nix was hurt and forced to miss the game, effectively ruining the Broncos' chances of a run. For the 2026 season, there's plenty of optimism with Nix and the offense, especially now that Jaylen Waddle has joined the team.
However, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared the results of a poll from NFL coaches, executives, and scouts on the top-10 QBs in the league that has Nix as merely named among the "others receiving votes" section alongside C.J. Stroud and Daniel Jones.
Bo Nix ranked alongside Stroud and Jones in NFL QB ranking
"Also receiving votes: Bo Nix, Daniel Jones, C.J. Stroud," Fowler shared. These three quarterbacks received top-10 votes, but not nearly enough to justify more than a mention in this ranking from Fowler.
After the top-10 QBs were ranked, which included Caleb Williams, Jared Goff, and Drake Maye, there were a few QBs named as "honorable mentions" who received blurbs from NFL coaches, executives, and scouts with commentary on their votes.
Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels, Jordan Love, Brock Purdy, Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence, and Jalen Hurts all received extra attention.
This means that Nix was named alongside Stroud and Daniels, a QB who had a massive letdown season, especially in the playoffs, and a QB who showed promise but sustained serious injuries this past season, in this poll.

If ranking Nix based on the order of when a quarterback is mentioned, Nix would be the 18th-ranked QB in the NFL. That might be underrating Nix a bit.
This past season, he threw for 3,931 passing yards with 25 touchdowns and a 63.4% completion rating with a 14-3 record and only 11 interceptions on 612 attempts, the most in the NFL last year.
In the playoffs, he threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns and an interception in the one game he got to play against the Buffalo Bills. But a late injury took him out of the AFC Championship, likely hurting his ranking in this poll.
At least Nix received some top-10 votes. But the lack of significant mention from Fowler in the article, outside of noting he received top-10 votes, shows how the NFL, via these polled executives, coaches, and scouts, is underrating Nix in a big way.
