The Milwaukee Brewersannounced that they optioned Highlands High School graduate Drew Rom to Triple-A Nashville to make room for starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff.

Woodruff was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and is expected to start for Milwaukee in its series opener against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Woodruff is 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA in six starts this season. He's been on the injured list since May 1 with right shoulder inflammation.

Rom posted a 3.38 ERA with 10 strikeouts in four relief appearances for Milwaukee. He was a fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in the 2018 draft.
