Braves know Tarik Skubal trade cost — and they should jump on it immediately originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Atlanta Braves are apparently a "sleeper" to trade for Tarik Skubal, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
And when you see the potential cost, it seems like a blockbuster deal they should jump on immediately.
The Braves are clearly a big-time contender, and adding the left-handed ace from the Tigers would make them even more formidable.

Tarik Skubal trade cost
Nightengale wrote in his new Sunday column that it would cost the Braves two of their top-10 prospects to get Skubal, including a top-100 prospect.
That's it?
Yes, Skubal is in the final year of his contract, so the only thing Atlanta would know for sure is that they'd have him through the end of the year.
If they wanted to keep him around longer, they'd have to sign him to what almost certainly will be a record-setting pitcher contract.
But if the cost is really just two of their top-10 prospects, that seems like an absolute steal. Atlanta would still get to keep most of its solid farm system, and in the meantime would end up with Skubal.
There isn't a single player out there more likely to swing an entire World Series picture than Skubal. And the Braves, if they got Skubal, could be keeping an NL rival like the Dodgers from landing him.
Atlanta should be knocking down the door in Detroit to get the price Nightengale has reported that Skubal will cost. They could get a championship with this potential move.
