Brandin Cooks was one of the Los Angeles Rams’ first big acquisitions under Les Snead and Sean McVay, getting traded from the New England Patriots to L.A. in 2018. He saw what it was like for the Rams to go all-in and chase a Super Bowl, and he sees it happening again right now.
During an appearance on “Good Morning Football” Tuesday, Cooks praised the Rams for their aggressive pursuit of another ring this offseason, trading a first-round pick (and more) for Trent McDuffie and then signing Jaylen Watson in free agency.
He predicts that the Rams will make a run to the Super Bowl, picking them as the team to beat in the NFC.
“What I love about the Rams is they’re going back to what the Rams do, and that’s ‘forget them picks,’” he said. “I think Coach McVay understands that this window is closing for Matthew Stafford on his back nine. They’re pressed to win another one pretty soon because how much longer is Stafford going to play? We don’t know.”
Cooks is a big fan of the Puka Nacua-Davante Adams tandem. He knows how good Nacua is, but Adams’ presence in the red zone really makes the Rams dangerous, Cooks says.
“Having Davante Adams is so clutch,” Cooks continued. “Obviously, we know about Puka, being able to make those big plays out in the open field but once you get to the red zone, at the end of the day, it’s like, ‘All right, Davante, go win.’”
Cooks saw the Rams get to the NFC title game last season and lose to the eventual champions – the second straight year their season ended against the team that went on to win the Super Bowl – and believes they’ll go a step further in 2026.
He thinks they’ll represent the NFC in the big game next season, predicting that they’ll reach the Super Bowl for the third time under McVay.
“Got a lot of love for Coach McVay. At the end of the day, I think it’s his for the taking,” he said. “He felt how they lost last year in that NFC championship, and so not to be content and just sit there and be like, ‘Oh, we got there. We can get there again.’ They went and added some pieces. I think they’re back there and this time going to the Super Bowl.”
Cooks is a pending free agent, and the Rams are looking for a No. 3 receiver to go with Nacua and Adams – perhaps even a deep threat with game-changing speed. A reunion would make sense for both parties, especially if Cooks wants another chance to win a ring after coming up just short with the Rams in 2018.
