Sean Miller's first year as head coach of the Texas Longhorns men's basketball team has been a roller coaster. Last week, USA TODAY Sports' weekly Bracketology had UT missing the NCAA tournament. But a big win over a ranked team has the Longhorns back in March Madness.

The Longhorns hammered ranked Georgia on Saturday 87-67 at Moody Center. The Longhorns are 12-8 on the year and 3-4 in the SEC. Texas currently sits in 11th place in the power conference. While not an impressive record, UT has some quality wins.

Texas has wins over ranked NC State, Alabama, Vanderbilt and now Georgia. Three of those wins over ranked opponents have come in three of the past five games. So Miller has the Horns trending up. Late season surges go along way with the NCAA basketball tournament selection committee.

Bracketology currently has the Longhorns as a No. 10 seed in the East Region. Obviously, a lot can change and it's only a projection. But it is a sign that Texas is improving.

This week, UT has three games at unranked Auburn, at unranked rival Oklahoma and home against unranked South Carolina. Wins against all three would go a long way to making the Longhorns position within the tournament more secure.
