Thousands of runners will attempt to set new personal records when they participate in the 2026 Boston Marathon.

This year's race will start in the town of Hopkinton, Mass., and it will conclude near the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. More than 500,000 spectators will be cheering for athletes as they cover 26.2 miles.

Boston Marathon start time 2026​

• Date: Monday, April 20
• Time: 9:06 a.m. ET

The 2026 Boston Marathon will start at 9:06 a.m. ET on Monday, April 20, with the men's wheelchair division. Other divisions will follow with all runners expected to be across the starting line by 11:30 a.m. ET.

How to watch Boston Marathon 2026: TV channel, live stream​

The 2026 Boston Marathon will air locally on WCVB (coverage from 4 a.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET) and nationally on ESPN2 (coverage from 9 a.m. ET to 12:30 p.m. ET). The race will also be available to stream on fubo.
