Blue Jays OF Jesús Sánchez left the game after a fan struck him with a baseball

There is almost never an excuse to throw anything at a player from the stands. It's an easy way to end up on a lifetime ban list. And one Orioles fan might be heading that way after Sunday's game if it wasn't a giant misunderstanding.

Blue Jays outfielder Jesús Sánchez left the game during the sixth inning at Oriole Park at Camden Yards after suffering an arm injury. It turned out that it was caused by a baseball being thrown from the stands.

Videos of the incident showed that Sánchez might have been talking to someone in the right-field stands when a ball came soaring in and struck his right arm around the wrist.

Trainers attended to Sánchez, and he was immediately removed from the game.

According to reporters at the game, though, the throw might have been an accident with a child thinking that Sánchez wanted to play catch.

The Blue Jays right fielder was replaced by Yohendrick Pinango. Thankfully, X-rays were negative, and the team is just calling the injury a contusion.
